Out of Hours Service
When the surgery is closed and on Bank Holidays, your call will be redirected to the NHS 111 service.
The out of hours service does not have access to your GP records, so please be aware of this when you call. Unless it is an emergency, it may be better to call the surgery for advice when we re-open.
It is also worth remembering that your usual pharmacy will often be able to dispense an emergency supply of your usual medication, without a prescription at the weekend, if you should run out.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute as an emergency.
Please remember only to use A&E in certain circumstances for example:
- A suspected heart attack/severe chest pain
- Breathing difficulty
- If someone is unconscious
- If someone is bleeding heavily
- If you suspect broken bones
- If there are deep wounds such as a stab wound.
